HIGH-LEVEL METROLOGY SERVICES IN FOOD AND NUTRITION FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY

PNRR METROFOOD-IT Open Launch Event & KoM of the Project

Next October 4th in Rome at the Botanical Garden, ENEA and Sapienza University of Rome will organize the launch event of the METROFOOD-IT Project – “Strengthening of the Italian RI for Metrology and Open Access Data in support to the Agrifood”, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan - PNRR.

The overall goal is to improve scientific excellence in the field of food quality and safety by promoting metrology for food and nutrition. To the project, coordinated by ENEA, participate the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Parma, the University of Siena, the Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Bari, the University of Molise and INRIM and will have a total duration of 30 months for a total funding of 17,8 MEuro. METROFOOD-IT is part of the METROFOOD-RI European Research Infrastructure (www.metrofood.eu), included in the ESFRI Roadmap for the Health and Food domain. The launch event will offer the opportunity to present the project to strengthen the national component of the research infrastructure, focused in particular on the electronic component and its integration with physical facilities, for the creation of an open data platform and the supply of services to support the digitalization of the agrifood system, food quality and safety, traceability of raw materials and products, food transparency, circular economy and sustainability. The services provided by the infrastructure are aimed at different categories of users with the possibility of accessing physical facilities (laboratories and plants) and electronic resources (apps, software, models) and will allow METROFOOD-IT to act as an interface between research and innovation, industrialists and consumers, defining and testing processes and scenarios for the development of sustainable and innovative agrifood systems. Open communication and close interaction with the various stakeholders of the agrifood system on objectives, activities, results and impacts, will allow to promote a direct and motivated involvement, through the application of a multi-actor approach and the creation of Living Labs. Participation is free and free upon ONLINE REGISTRATION. The language of the eventi is italian.
