HIGH-LEVEL METROLOGY SERVICES IN FOOD AND NUTRITION FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY
Online Appointment with Food Safety First on 21 November
The online event “Food Safety First” will take place on 21 November 2025, organized by the National Research and Development Institute for Food Bioresources (IBA Bucharest).
The event programme will include presentations on strategic orientations and funding opportunities under the Horizon Europe programme, with a particular focus on European policies for safe and sustainable food systems. Participants will explore how the European Union’s new research priorities support the development of resilient, transparent, and sustainability-oriented food supply chains.
The concept of “One Health” — an integrated approach that recognizes the interdependence between human, animal, and environmental health — will also be addressed as a foundation for building a more balanced and responsible food system.
A key part of the workshop will focus on the role of science and technology in ensuring food safety. European initiatives and projects exploring the application of metrology in food quality control, pollutant monitoring, and the detection of micro- and nanoplastic materials will be presented.
